In the second update in May Telegram changed how Telegram receive level ups depending on how many boosts they have. The level still depends on how many subscribers your channel has, but the formula has changed.
@tginfo editors have conducted a few experiments and are sharing the results.
Boosts Calculator
The calculation might seem confusing, since it consists of multiple steps and conditions.
To allow you to learn how many boosts your channel needs to reach a level without going through formulas, @tginfo developed an online calculator boosts.tginfo.me. There is also Telegram Mini-App in @boostcountbot now available.

How many boosts needed to reach Level 50 (disable ads)
The new system simplifies achieving the first nine levels: they now cost almost half as many boosts (except for the ninth, although it has also become cheaper). However, for the most advanced features, such as the ability to disable official Telegram ads in a channel, significant effort is now required.
You can learn the number of boosts required for your channel to reach the 50-th level in our online calculator (or its Telegram Mini-App edition).
How to calculate the number myself?
In Microsoft Excel
Manually
To get the required number of boosts, it’s helpful to first determine an intermediate value that depends on the number of your subscribers. Let’s call it the ‘channel coefficient’, which is calculated using the following formula.
Step 1: Calculate your ‘coefficient’
This coefficient is a special number that will help calculate the required boosts for all levels specifically for your channel.
- Divide your number of subscribers by 250.
- Discard everything after the decimal point.
- To this integer part, add 1.
Step 2: Calculate the required number of boosts
To calculate the required boosts for any level, you need to:
If you need a level from 1st to 8th:
- Multiply your ‘coefficient’ by the desired level number.
- Divide the result by 2.
- If the result is not a whole number, round it up.
If you need the 9th level: Simply multiply your ‘coefficient’ by 7.
If you need the 10th level or higher (11th, 20th, 50th, etc.): multiply your ‘coefficient’ by the level number.
