2 weeks ago, the Telegram update was released, which brought us an updated view of the profiles and an updated view of the media.

How to go to the full profile photo
On Android, a profile can open in different ways: clicking on an avatar opens a profile with expanded photos, clicking on a chat name or name opens a profile with a minimized photo. Swipe down in the profile expands the photo on the floor of the screen, to open the photo in full screen, you need to swipe up so that the avatar takes a round shape and make a long tap on it.
On iPhone, a profile can also open in different ways: clicking on an avatar opens a profile with expanded photos, clicking on a chat name or name opens a profile with a collapsed photo. Swipe down in the profile expands the photo to the floor of the screen, the second swipe opens the photo in full screen. Swipe up minimizes to a small round version, a short tap will also open the photo in full screen.
On iPad – a short tap on the profile picture opens a view of all photos.
How to flip through media
The increase is carried out on a double tap in the central zone of the media, flipping – tap in the edges. Scrolling zones are quite small, so moving your finger a little closer to the center you can increase the media.
In normal profile viewing, double tap does not work, and the transition to the next avatar is done by tap across almost the entire media field, only its small left part is used to return to the previous media.
While watching a video with different tapas, three different actions occur:
- Double tap in the center of the screen enlarges the video.
- Double tap to the left or right of the center rewinds the video for 10 seconds forward or backward.
- A short tap along the edges of the screen – go to the next media.
Where is the search on iOS?
To go to the search by dialogue, you need to make a long tap on the name of the interlocutor or the name of the chat. A long tap on the avatar will open the menu, duplicate items “search” and “open”.
What can be improved in navigation
A rather unpleasant scenario for using media browsing is random touch, therefore, we offer the following solutions to emerging problems:
- Disable flipping media tap while watching a video.
- Increase the waiting time for the second tap, to be able to bring the image closer to the edge.
- Reduce the scrolling area of the media, or make it dependent on the size and resolution of the screen so that on small devices it is not too large.
